University Park, PA (WJAC) — Penn State football has climbed one spot to 10th in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.
The Nittany Lions were ranked 11th by the playoff committee prior to last week's rout of Maryland.
Penn State now holds a record of 8-1 on the season and prepares for a Big Ten battle against the third ranked Michigan Wolverines.
Kickoff of Saturday's game is scheduled for noon and the game will be televised on Fox.

NEW YORK CITY (TND) — Rev. Al Sharpton picketed outside billionaire Bill Ackman's office Thursday to protest his push for ex-Harvard President Claudine Gay's resignation.
The civil rights leader marched with the National Action Network outside the New York City office. The protestors tried to show New Yorkers, corporate America and Ackman's investors "who he is" by carrying signs and shouting, "No justice, no peace!"

Flooding affects parts of Elk County

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — It's been a wet week in the region.
In Johnsonburg, flooding hit portions of the area, including Center Street, where water was pumped out of basements.
There's currently a boil-water advisory for the west end of the borough.

DuBois, PA — In an incident dating back to November of last year, authorities said Gong Yang Song, owner of Fusion Buffet in DuBois, tried to rape one of his female employees and tonight he’s facing multiple charges.
"The incident initially wasn't reported immediately, there was some issues going on we needed to get some interpreters involved," said Cpl. Orlando Prosper, DuBois City Police.

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County say two men are behind bars following a months-long drug trafficking investigation in the city of Johnstown.
Officials say the investigation began in February when authorities received an alleged tip of suspected drug activity at a residence along Solomon Street.
Investigators say on Friday, April 26th, authorities executed a search warrant at the home and arrested 43-year-old Dashaun CarMichael and 22-year-old Tishaun CarMichael.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — Penn State has announced they will resume in-person classes for part of the fall semester before returning to all distance learning around Thanksgiving.
The fall semester will begin Monday, Aug. 24, but campus-based, residential instruction will end Friday, Nov. 20, with the remainder of the semester — including final exams — being delivered remotely and online when classes resume after Thanksgiving break on Nov. 30, according to a release from Penn State.

Johnstown man charged after 10 cats found dead at 'uninhabitable' West End home, authorities say

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Cambria County Humane Society have filed charges against a Johnstown area man following an investigation into alleged animal abuse and neglect.
Officials say the investigation into 67-year-old Daniel Gates began in late November after authorities received a complaint from the landlord of a property, located along Dorothy Avenue.
Investigators say Gates was accused of abandoning and neglecting multiple dogs at the property, and the dogs were eventually removed.
