HOUSTON, Texas (TND) — A Texas woman was arrested for shooting her mother on Mother's Day, according to authorities. The Houston Police Department said 18-year-old Trinity Calhoun was charged with aggravated assault of a family member.
Police said officers responded to a home for a reported shooting Sunday around 3:30 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 35-year-old woman with "a non-life -threatening gunshot wound to her right leg.
Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — The Johnstown Tomahawks announced that former Pittsburgh Penguin and Stanley Cup Champion Max Talbot will be making a special appearance at an upcoming game. Talbot is scheduled to make a private appearance, as well as participate in a public meet-and-greet on Friday, March 24th.
“We are excited to host another former Penguin at a game, especially a fan favorite like Max,” said Derek Partsch, Tomahawks director of business operations.

NEW YORK (AP) — A police officer who was involved in clearing protesters from a Columbia University administration building earlier this week fired his gun inside the hall, a spokesperson for District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office confirmed Thursday.
No one was injured, according to spokesperson Doug Cohen, who said there were other officers but no students in the immediate vicinity. He said Bragg’s office is conducting a review.

There was more than one car on the train tracks just seconds before a train struck a vehicle in Cambria County on Wednesday.
Rick Truscello said he was travelling down Eisenhower Boulevard just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon and was just a few cars behind the blue SUV that ended up getting hit by a CSX train.
Truscello said there was traffic backed up near the intersection of Krings Street with about a half dozen cars on each side of the train tracks before the collision.
Washington state high school faces tuberculosis scare, evaluations recommended for 135 people

KENT, Wash. (KOMO) — Roughly 135 people from a Washington state high school have been recommended to be evaluated for tuberculosis after a school community member was diagnosed with the disease, health officials said.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WOLF) — Police arrested a 31-year-old man from Wilkes-Barre after investigating allegations that he had been sexually assaulting a child for over a year.
Bryan Nee was arrested after the victim, a 5-year-old girl, was questioned by a forensic interviewer at the Luzerne County Children’s Advocacy Center in Wilkes-Barre.
The victim told investigators that Nee made her touch him while bathing that Nee said it was “OK," but that she needed to keep it a “secret.
