JERUSALEM (AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that a U.S. threat to withhold some arms would not prevent Israel from continuing its offensive in Gaza, indicating it might proceed with an invasion of the packed city of Rafah against the wishes of its closest ally.
President Joe Biden has urged Israel not to go ahead with such an operation over fears it would exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in the Palestinian enclave.
ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — Arts Altoona will be hosting an art market on April 17th at the Arts Altoona Center, located at 2212 Sixth Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Organizers say the event was conceived as a way to showcase local artists, and to provide them a way to sell their creations.
Prices of the artworks range from 10 to $100.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — As least a couple months in jail and special provisions for probation, that is the sentence for a Centre County man who reportedly had animals found dead or neglected on his farm.
State police say they were called to the 150-acre, Curtin Township farm of Levi Byler, in January of 2023, following a report of a dead horse that had been lying in a farm field for a week.

GARRETT, Pa. (WJAC) — UPDATE:
State police say a standoff began around 9 p.m. when a trooper noticed Steve Burns in a garage along Jackson Street.
Burns had a warrant out for domestic violence and a DUI.
Police say when the trooper pulled up to the garage, Burns and a woman, later identified as Kelly Fairgrieve, who is wanted in Maryland for escape and obstruction of justice, ran into the house and refused to come out.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A mistrial was declared Monday during opening arguments of a trial in alawsuit by a fired Penn State football team doctor, who alleged he was ousted after complaining to school officials about pressure to clear players to return from injuries.
Dauphin County Court Judge Andrew Dowling declared the mistrial after the defense attorney mentioned that Penn State's football coach, James Franklin, and Penn State Athletics had been dropped years ago from the lawsuit filed by Dr.
JENNERSTOWN - Jenner Township Assistant Fire Chief Mike Novak is calling Corey’s Corral in Somerset County a total loss after an overnight fire.
Fire crews were called to the bar around 2:10 a.m. Friday.
The bar had closed less than one hour before the crews arrived on scene.
Officials said there was no one inside the two-story structure when the fire started.
Novak said it took eight different fire crews to help put out the flames.
